In the car, after I pick the kids up from daycare:
Me: Do you guys have any homework tonight?
Haille: Yes, and I have to finish Ally's homework & turn it in for her.
Me: What? You cannot do someone else's homework for them.
Haille: But she won't be in school because she's going to Florida!!
Me: No, you can't do that. If your teacher found out, you BOTH would be in trouble.
Haille: BUT I HAVE TO!! I TOLD HER I WOULD!!!!!!!!
Me: No, you're not. Tell Ally she has to do her own homework.
Haille: BUT SHE'S NOT GOING TO BE IN SCHOOL!!!!!!
Me: Haille, I said you're not doing it, so chill out.
So Haille is pouting on the way to Trentin's baseball practice. While there, she gets her homework done and I told her I would check it when we got home. Trying to keep a 14 month old happy when all he REALLY wants to do is get out of the stroller & run around, but screaming because he can't, kinda distracts my concentration!!!! We get home after practice, and I start dinner. In the meantime, I pull out Haille's folder to look at her homework and find the following note tucked inside:
Dear Mrs. Davis-Huff,
I was going to do Ally's homework for her because she is going to Florida with her family. My mom wouldn't let me. She said NO.
Haille Cutter
I had to chuckle to myself. She turned herself in!!! I put the note back in the folder. I wonder if she'll receive a response to her note. We shall see.
