While having lunch with Tiff today, we were laughing about how funny Trentin can be, and all the funny things he comes up with out of the blue. I told her I need to start writing these stories down because it just captures his unique personality, and I'll remember the funny stories to tell him as he gets older. There are quite a few, but here's the one that had us laughing today:
I pick up the kids from the babysitter and ask my usual questions "how was your day?" and "what did you learn at school?" you know, just standard everyday conversation.
Haille: Logan got in trouble today, mom.
Me: Oh yeah? What did he do?
Haille: He said the "B" word and got in trouble.
Me: The "B" word, huh?
Trentin: (from the back seat) Can I say it, mom?
Me: Say what?
Trentin: Bitch, mom, he said BITCH!!!
Me: (couging to hide my giggling) Kids shouldn't talk like that. It's not appropriate.
Trentin: Is it against the law, mom?
Me: (still coughing/giggling) No, it's not against the law, it's just not nice language.
Trentin: Whew!! Then I don't have to go to jail!!!
Me: Outburst laughter
OOPS!!!
Ask Trentin who accidentally knocked his front tooth out?? That would be ME!!! And I feel horrible about it. Here's the story: Trentin was laying on his stomach with his hands under his chin, watching tv on my bed. I had a basket of laundry which I was going to fold on my bed, and as I walked by him, I was playing around, and pushed his head in a joking way. Like I have done thousands of times before. That's just how we are!!
All the sudden, he sat straight up and his front tooth fell out of his mouth, along with some blood. Apparently, as he had his hands underneath his chin (watching tv) his two pinkies were in his mouth, and I'm sure you can imagine what happened. I apologized a million times, while we were getting a washcloth for his bleeding mouth, but he was actually laughing!! And he tells me "don't worry, mom, you don't have to be sorry cuz' the tooff (tooth) fairy is coming!!" Bless his little heart!!! The next time you see him (unless his new tooth has come in) ask him to say SALLY SELLS SEASHELLS BY THE SEASHORE - it's hilarious!!!

AXTEN'S BIRTHDAY PARTY!!
Everyone came over to celebrate Axten's first birthday!! We started the day with some pizza snacks, and Axten LOVED them!!
MMMM.....He loved it!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AXTEN!!
My youngest baby is now ONE!!! WOW!! It's so hard to believe how fast this year has gone. Axten has brought such joy to all our lives. He is so easy going, with all the running around we have had to do with baseball/softball, football/cheerleading, and now basketball practice and all the games, I couldn't ask for a better baby!! He just has the personality as if he's saying "okay, let's go, just don't forget my snacks & toys!!"
I love this baby with all my heart, and thinking back, I feel guilty that I was upset when I found out I was pregnant with him. I could not imagine life without him, and I'm so glad the stupid Nuvo-ring failed!!
He's SO CLOSE to walking!! He can easily hold his balance, and can even take quite a few steps, but then he goes to the ground and crawls!! Each day he is getting more brave and taking even more steps than before. Pretty soon, he'll be running like a wild child!!
Axten has been battling an on-going ear infection for quite a while now. We're on our 4th antibiotic, and he'll be on this one for 3 weeks. We've been through amoxicillian, augmenten, and a shot of rosefin (am I spelling those correctly??) all of which have not healed his ears completely. So now we're trying sulfatrim. At the end of the three weeks, if he still has fluid in his ears, we'll be heading to the ear, nose & throat specialist for tubes. We were hoping to avoid that route, but in the end, if it helps prevent ear infections and hearing loss, it's definitely worth it.We have also broke free of the bottle!! His favorite cup is the Nuby, which is basically a glorified bottle with a silicone lid, but at least it's a step in the right direction!!

BACK DOWN HOME!!
One of Jason's old high school buddies got in touch with him and invited him to play in the Annual Alumni Basketball game for South Dearborn High School. Apparently, every year the alumni basketball players play the recent graduates to raise money for the current basketball teams at the high school. They have games all day long, from all different graduating classes. Even from back in the 80's!! It's a real neat way to raise money for the school!!
The best part for me is I got to see the high school Jason attended before I even knew him. And I got to meet all the guys he used to hang out with. I've heard many stories of these guys, and now I finally have faces to put with the names!! We had fun going out with them for drinks after the game and catching up!!
Before the game started, Jason took me around the town of Dillsboro, where he grew up. It's a real small town, very different from what I'm used to. I mean, the nearest Walmart is like 25 minutes away!! But I really enjoyed seeing where Jason came from, and it's amazing to me that him and I are even together. I had no idea there was a Dillsboro, Indiana, and if he had not gone to Franklin College, we never would have met!! I told him on our way home, it was fate that brought us together!!!
CHRISTMAS DAY!!
Trentin was the first one up on Christmas morning around 6:30, and he was so excited!! I told him to wait until Haille and Axten woke up before we could open presents, and he said "I just can't WAIT to open all my presents!! I GOTTA open them!!" This is the same child that I have to beg to wake up in the morning, because he is "just so tired." He was wired Christmas morning!! But that's totally expected!! I told him to go back to his room & put on a movie or something until they woke up, but he kept coming back into our room literally every 10 minutes, until he woke Axten up, and Haille got up shortly thereafter.
Since Trentin opened his gifts in record time, Haille said he could open the present that was for both her and him. It was the best present of all!!!
After we opened the presents Santa brought, we got dressed and headed over to Aunt Tiff & Grandma's house for a delicious turkey dinner, and of course, more presents!!! Thank you Grandma and Aunt Tiff for the wonderful gifts!! The kids were really spoiled this year!!
Here's Haille taking a picture of me taking a picture of her!! She loves her new camera!!
CHRISTMAS EVE!!
We kept our Christmas Eve tradition alive by going over to Dad's house. We ate a yummy spaghetti dinner and then opened presents!! Thank you Grandma and Papaw!! The kids loved all their presents!!
