THIS AIN'T 1870!!
I picked the kids up Monday afterwork, thanking God that there was no baseball/softball practice for a change that evening. I get to go home!! YAY!! So I walk in the door, Melissa (daycare lady) says "can I talk to you for a minute?" "uh oh" I say. That usually means something's wrong. {background: the kids get on/off the bus at Melissa's house, and Melissa knows the bus driver pretty well (Mrs. Marsha)} So here's the story: Trentin sits next to a little boy named Sam on the bus. Sam's mom told Mrs. Marsha (she was rather irrate) that apparently, Trentin was teaching Sam swear words, and showing him how to flip-the-bird on the bus. "WHAAA???" is all I could say. So Mrs. Marsha moved Trentin to the front of the bus so she could watch him. I also grounded him from watching TV and video games, but listening to my lecture was probably the worst punishment of all. Trentin's version: He was telling Sam NOT to say those words (all the while saying them himself) and showing Sam that it was NOT okay to put his middle finger up (again, doing it himself). Hmmm.... It sounded like he was just trying to cover himself because he got BUSTED!! So I talked to Mrs. Marsha the next day, and she did confirm that Trentin (she actually kept calling him Trevor LOL) was telling Sam it wasn't nice to do those things. But he still did them nontheless, so he was in trouble.
Fast forward to the next day, and here is our conversation in the car after I told Trentin I talked to Mrs Marsha that day:
ME: Trentin, I better never hear that you behaved like that ever again, or you're going to be in SO much trouble.
TRENTIN: I won't.
ME: I'm serious, Trentin. You KNOW better.
HAILLE: I don't like when you get in trouble, Trentin, because I love you and I don't want you to get whipped.
ME: WHAT?? You guys don't get whipped!!
TRENTIN: Yeah, Haille, this ain't 1870 where people get whipped.
ME: 1870??
TRENTIN: Yeah, Mom, people got whipped in 1870.
ME: (laughing)
Even when he disappoints me, he can still make me laugh.

HAILLE HAS BRACES!!
The day Haille has been waiting for has finally arrived - she got braces!!! ($$$ we are currently accepting donations $$$ LOL) It really broke my heart that she was self-conscience about her smile, and I was surprised that she qualified for braces so young! So we began Phase 1, just her top teeth, which should take about 1 year. She has to wear her headgear for 12-14 hours a day, mostly at night. She is pretty sore, and barely wants to eat, but it's getting better each day. I'm so proud of her!! She is handling it all incredibly well.
She still has about 12 baby teeth that won't fall out for a couple more years. After this phase, she will get a permanent retainer, and she will be monitored on how her teeth come in. We also found out that one of her wisdom teeth is actually laying sideways, towards the roots of her molars, so when she's older, she will need surgery to have it cut out, but that's not until quite a few years.
AXTEN IS 2!!!
I'm glad Axten didn't realize that his actual birthday was a few weeks prior to his party!!! I won't be able to get away with that for long. It was hard to plan because January was a very busy month for us - Jason's Vegas trip, year end projects for me, I got pretty sick, grandparents were out of town, etc. So a full 3 weeks after his birthday, we finally have his party!!

I cannot believe he is already 2 years old. 2 YEARS OLD!! Everyday he amazes me with something new he has learned. He can sing his ABC's, count to 10, and tattle on his brother & sister! And when I point to a horseshoe, or a Colts sign, he says "Go Colts!" but the best part of everyday, is when I walk into the daycare room, he sees me, comes running with his arms stretched out saying "MMMOOOOOMMMM!!" and I get a huge hug. That will never get old.
SKATING PARTY!!!
NEW YEAR'S EVE
CHRISTMAS DAY 2009
CHRISTMAS MORNING 2009
As usual, Trentin was the first one awake - up at 5 am!!! Actually 5:08am to be exact. We tried to get him to go back to bed for a little bit, but he was too excited. He kept running up the stairs....down the stairs...up the stairs....down the stairs until he woke Haille & Axten up. So we were all out of bed by 5:30. Makes for one wore-out & tired mommy & daddy!!!
This was a fun year!! Axten finally realized what opening presents was all about!! Although he kept holding up Trentin's presents for pictures.
Trentin's 2nd, YES, 2ND DS. Axten broke his first one - threw it in the toilet!! Ask Trentin whose fault it is, and he will blame me "because you said he wouldn't hurt it!!" He has a point. *sigh*

Haille has a small Mountain Dew addiction. We're looking into getting her help.
