TRENTIN-ISM

In the car, on the way to softball/baseball practice:

Haille: I wonder when they're going to come out with a High School Musical 4.

Me: Not sure, I haven't heard anything about them making another one.

Haille: I wish they would!

Me: Wait, didn't they graduate in High School Musical 3? So they can't make another one.

Trentin: Nope, cuz' they all had to get jobs!!

THE BRAVES!!

Trentin stepped up age groups in the league this year, and he's on the Braves. He's one of the youngest kids on the team, so he gets to play in the outfield, which, he says, is boring!!! After he told me he gets bored out there the very next game he played, every other player hit the ball in right field! He did great stopping all the balls!! I told him to be careful what he wishes for!!

A friend of ours is his coach, and he is great at helping Trentin understand that the rules are alot different than Pee-Wees!! Plus, the games are so exciting!!

THE DODGERS!!

Haille is on the Dodgers this year, and doing very well!!

When she's not pitching......

....she's playing 3rd base!!!

HAPPY EASTER!!

The kids woke up and tore into their baskets before they woke us up! They even opened Axten's for him, which I was kind of disappointed about. He's getting to the age where he can open things himself, but I got over it. Plus, I didn't get any pictures of them "finding" their baskets!!! The silly Easter bunny hid them again!!

Trentin decided it was chocolate bunnies for breakfast!
Later that afternoon, we made a stop at Grandma's house to visit with her!

After our visit with Grandma, we headed over to Grandpa & Grandma's house for some lunch. Grandma had an Easter egg hunt for the kids.

Grandma added a "twist" to the Easter egg hunt: The carrot eggs had a task that each of the kids had to do, such as tell a funny joke, or make Papaw laugh, or hop around the shed. It was too cute and very creative!! I think we should make that a tradition!!

ART SHOW!!!

Haille's art teacher picked one of her pictures to be displayed at the Perry Township art show!! I'm so proud of her!!
This was the category she represented. They gave her an odd shape, and she had to create a picture using that shape.

Haille said the shape reminded her of a fish! Good job, Haille!!

CHORES!!

I've been stressing lately because we are at either baseball/softball games or practices each night, and we don't get home until around 8pm. My house is always a mess!! So I figure the kids are old enough now to help me out. We made a list of what chores they wanted to be in charge of. They were so excited about it!! Other than picking up their dirty clothes & keeping their rooms picked up, Haille wanted to take care of unloading the dishwasher & Trentin wanted to sweep. Haille wanted to help put laundry away, Trentin is in charge of emptying the trash cans.
If they keep up with their chores without me having to remind them of what needs to be done, they will each get $3 at the end of the week.

They are doing great!!
Axten LOVED the swing!!

Look Mom!! I can do the Wii Fit, too!!!

AXTEN'S TUBES

Axten qualified for tubes. His constant ear infections would never heal completely, and we would end up back in the doctor's office every couple of weeks with a fever and a grumpy baby.

We had to be at the surgery center at 7:30 in the morning, and Axten couldn't have anything to eat or drink after midnight the previous evening. Overall, he handled it pretty well, considering he LOVES his breakfast first thing in the morning!!!

Hmmmm.....if I can escape out of this door, and turn right down the hallway, I'll be free!!!
His surgery went well, and QUICK!! We were only in the waiting room for about 10 minutes when the doctor came to tell us the procedure went smoothly. We found Axten in the recovery room extremely upset, but they warned us that all kids come out of the anesthesia like that. He recovered without any problems, and was back to his normal self by that evening. He hasn't had an ear infection since!!! I call that a success!!!

20 MOM QUESTIONS!!

This is one of those multi-question "get to know you" kinda emails a friend of mine sent to me. I thought it was fun to answer, so I decided to post on the blog, instead of forwarding to everyone. Here's alittle insight to the life & mind of Mrs. Cutter:

1. How old were you when your first child was born? 23

2. What month and year was your youngest child born? January 2008

3. How did you feel when you first found out you were pregnant? HAILLE - excited! thrilled!! TRENTIN - terrified, anxious, scared, nervous (keep in mind that Haille was only 3 months old when I found out).....eventually turned into excited and thrilled!!! AXTEN - denial, shocked, disbelief....also turned into excited and thrilled!!!

4. Who did you tell first? Their Daddy!!

5. How many pounds did you gain during your first pregnancy? About 60 lbs. (gasp!!)

6. What did you crave while you were pregnant? Taco Bell, Taco Bell & Taco Bell, and peanut butter cups

7. Did you find out the gender of your first child? Why or why not? Yes. I was outnumbered!! I wanted to keep it a surprise. Everyone else didn't.

8. Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? None, whatsoever. I'm very lucky!!

9. How much did your first child weigh? 9 lbs, 8 oz, 22 in

10. Was your first child early, late, or on time? She was born one day after her due date

11. What is the most difficult challenge or health issue that any of your children have faced? Haille (and now Axten) had constant ear infections. She ended up with tubes at age 2 (Axten just got them - age 1). She had hearing loss, which resulted in her speech delay. Now, she is battling a learning disability. But doing very well at school!!!

12. What's your favorite part of being a mom? Watching the kids grow into their own self with their own likes/dislikes, and knowing that I had something to do with it. And when I pick them up after a long day, they are still excited to see me and come running to give me a big hug!! It brings tears to my eyes.

13. Do you think it's easier to be a mom or a dad? That's not a fair question!!! Neither job is easy!!!

14. What is the best piece of advice you could give to someone who is about to have their first child? I would advise to not have unrealistic expectations, to just go with the flow, listen to your instincts, hang on and enjoy the ride of their lives.

15. Did you always think you'd have kids? Yes, I absolutely wanted kids!!!

16. What's been the biggest surprise about motherhood? No matter how many messes I have cleaned over & over again, how many diapers I have changed, how many sleepless nights I have layed awake with a sick kid holding a puke bucket, I could not imagine doing anything different.

17. Are there things you miss about life before kids? I guess one thing would be going to the store without a big production.

18. How many children do you have? 3

19. Do you plan to have any more children? No, my tubes are tied, unfortunately

20. Who's the mom that you admire most? MY Mom!!! She has raised her kids into being respectful, compassionate, loving, good-hearted people. I am raising my kids the exact same way she did us!!
