BASKETBALL SEASON!!

This is Haille's very first basketball season!! She's catching on pretty well!! This is going to be a fun season!! Two girls she plays softball with are also on this team, too!! More pictures will definitely be coming!!

TEN MONTHS OLD!!

Axten had a busy month!! He hit quite a few milestones all at once!!! He weighs 26.4 pounds, and he is 31 inches long. Still off the growth percentage charts, he's proportioned right, and his doctor said if we're comfortable with it, he can have regular milk!! So we tried it out to see if he would adjust well, and he had no problem whatsoever. So whole milk it is!! That's Milestone #1. I've been trying to give him a sippy cup instead of his bottle, but he doesn't want anything to do with it. I didn't break Haille or Trentin from the bottle until they were one, so we've still got time. He will attempt to drink from a regular cup though!!

Milestone #2 is this:

Yes, Axten is now crawling!! I enticed him by putting something in front of him, and making him come get it. At first, he would just stricly do the "army crawl" and scoot, but all the sudden, he caught on, and off he went!! He's now mobile!! And into everything........time to baby proof!!

Now that Axten is mobile, he is wanting to get ahold of anything he can, which led to Milestone # 2 1/2..... He started partially pulling up!! Only to his knees though. Anything that rested on the table-top and was within his reach, was his.

Milestone #3 followed shortly thereafter. Axten figured out how to pull up straight to his feet!!

He has also made it to the stairs a couple times, which scares me!! I can just picture him taking a tumble down the stairs, so we will be installing a gate VERY soon!!
We have been having a difficult time transitioning to food with texture. I've been getting Axten the baby food with actual peas, and carrots and rice pieces. He gags whenever I feed him. By trying to get him used to different foods, I found the easiest way is for him to feed himself. More food ends up on the floor than in his mouth, but it's a start!!

Axten got his first "top" tooth!! So that's 3 teeth altogether!! The top one seemed to hurt, which made him pretty grumpy. It took forever before it finally popped through, and when it did, I'm sure he felt such relief!! Problem now is the other one is pushing through, too. This one is not as bad. I'm going to miss his precious gummy smile!!!
It's so hard to believe that Axten will be one year old soon. It seems like yesterday when we were anxiously awaiting for him to be here........He's such a blessing and truly a joy!!! We all love him so much!!!

TRUE COLTS FAN!!

If anyone knows Jason, he is not the type to paint his face for a Colts game. It's just not his thing. But after drinking close to two cases of beer (not by himself though) and tailgating for close to 7 hours, he was all for it!!

The Colts "baby" shirt lives on!! Chelsea is due in just a couple weeks!!

AXTEN BRETT

I was just browsing through all my old posts since Axten was born, and it occurred to me that I never did explain how we came up with Axten's name. So I thought I would elaborate. I still get a mixed reaction when someone hears Axten's name. Some people like it, and I can instantly tell when some people don't. I get a "oh.....that's.....nice....." That doesn't bother me at all. I really like unique names that you don't hear very often, so when you hear them, you instantly remember who or what or where. Jason & I browsed all the baby name websites numerous times & had quite a long list of names, but none of them seemed to work, even though Axten had not been born yet.

Jason's grandmother on his mom's side was born and raised in England. From everything I hear about her, she sounded like an amazing woman, with a heart of gold, and I'm really disappointed I never got to meet her in person. She sounded like such a neat lady. We have a picture of her displayed, and just looking at the picture, she looks so elegant. I wish I could of had a conversation with her. I would of loved to hear of all the stories she told about working for the Queen, and all about her family. She passed away some years ago, but to this day, Jason misses her terribly. I hear she loved Jason to pieces, as he did (still does) her. She spoiled him rotten! He was always at her side each time she came over to visit. Her name was Lucille Brett Axten.

Going through all the names we had written down, I kept coming to the name Axten, and it sounded even better with the middle name Brett. It just rang!! Although, we didn't have it on our list, I thought Jason would jump at the chance to name his son after his grandma, but he was alittle hesitant. I mean, we were having a BOY!! But I had my heart set on this name and I am, however, very good at convincing (or arguing - as Jason might put it). "What a way to honor your grandma, or your mother, or even Chris for that matter!! You picked Trentin's name, so let me pick this baby's name!! You can't tell me you don't like that name!! It's a great name!! No other kid will have this name!!" I went on and on. I wasn't giving up, because I truly felt it was such a great fit. The spiritual side of me also felt like she helped pick who would be our baby. Yes, I do believe in things like that. I know she is sitting in heaven very proud of the dad Jason has become (and I hope of me, too!!). And I know she watches over Jason, as well as Haille and Trentin, and now Axten. After a few months of "convincing" - I GOT MY WAY!! Jason finally caved. And he doesn't regret it. And there you have it - Axten Brett Cutter.
I wuv my sissy!!
Happy Birthday to my amazing husband!! Here's to another wonderful year together!! I love you so much!!! XOXO

HALLOWEEN!!

Haille was Gabriella from High School Musical (of course) complete with a wig & sparkle eye-lashes!!

Trentin was Indiana Jones!! I tried to put alittle beard stuble on his face, but he threw a fit because "it doesn't look like Indiana Jones!!!" So we washed it off.

Axten is the cutest Mickey Mouse I've ever seen!! His black nose didn't last long though.

Kaydance Jo was Sharpay!!

And Kyndall was the most adorable bumble bee!!

Haille truly is a daddy's girl!!

My ears keep falling into my face!!!
What do you mean I can't eat all my candy right now??

CARVIN' PUMPKINS

The kids got all the goop & seeds out, and then we - and by that I mean me and Jason - had fun carving THEIR pumpkins!! The kids didn't want to do the actual "carving" so they bailed out after a few minutes, but often asked when the pumpkins would be done!!

From left to right: Haille's, Axten's and Trentin's. I think we did a good job!!
