Cross off another month on Axten's first year calendar!! Let's see......a lot happened this month. Axten had his first trip the the ER. He had been fighting a cold since his last ear infection, and this particular night, he had a real hard time breathing. I had the vaporizor going in the room, rubbed Vicks on his chest, and had him laying at an incline, but he still could not breathe. My poor baby was gasping for air, and so off to the ER we went. When we arrived, they checked his oxygen level, and it was real low, so they immediately gave him a breathing treatment, which he fought the entire time. He didn't like that mask on his face!!! Once that was over, I could instantly tell it helped quite a bit. Then they x-rayed his chest to test for pneumonia, and they stuck a wire thingy up his nose to test for RSV. Both tests came back negative (thank goodness!) so they concluded that he had a real bad respiratory infection. After they gave him another breathing treatment, they prescribed him a strong antibiotic, as well as a steroid to help open his airway. He is MUCH better now!!
Since he has gotten a couple teeth now, I let him try a biter-biscuit. He loved it!!
This is the adorable face I get to see peeking from over the crib railing every morning!! All it takes for me to get a big smile is say "Good Morning, Sugar Bear!"
Axten can get up on all 4's now, and I think he's going to take off!! Then.....
he'll fall right back down on his belly!!
He's such a cuddle bug!!
