Our Lazy Sunday
On Sunday, we went to play at the park!
There were horses in the field next to the park. The kids were more interested in watching them instead of playing on the playground!!
My New Car!!
That's right - I got a new car!!! It's a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. Definitely a change, since I'm so used to driving Fords (because my Dad, sister & brother all worked there) but I really love it. I gave Jason a list of things I wanted to do - like tint the windows and put a spoiler on the back. It's wonderful to have a husband who works in the car aftermarket industry!!
Christmas in April!!!
Our First Baseball Game
The "Easter Bunny"
I think the whole "Easter Bunny" image has been ruined for Haille and Trentin. Very upsetting for me initially, but I've gotten over it now (I guess.) Let me start from the beginning.......
On Good Friday, daycare was closed, so Haille and Trentin were going to Grandma's (my mom's house) because I still had to work. I woke up that morning to find a flat tire (great way to start the day) so I needed to put on the spare. All their Easter stuff was in my hiding place - the trunk, so I had to make sure the kids stayed inside the house while I dug out the spare & changed the tire AND trying to hide their Easter stuff. Kinda difficult because they kept wanting to come outside and "tell" on each other. After I threatened their lives that if I saw them outside one more time......... I got everything back in the trunk and we were on our way to Grandma's. I ended up taking a 1/2 day because I had to get a new tire, and a couple other things for their Easter baskets, and then I headed back to my mom's to pick up the kids. I get there, and tell the kids to get in their seats & buckle their seatbelts, which is nothing out of the ordinary, while I stood in the doorway talking to my mom. The next thing I know, both of them ran back up to the house asking if they could open their "surprises". WHAT?!?!? I ran outside and those little stinkers had gotten into my trunk (after my morning of making sure they DIDN'T see their Easter stuff) and saw EVERYTHING the "Easter Bunny" was going to bring them!!! Needlesstosay, I freaked out. Did I over-react??? MAYBE. JUST ALITTLE. UH-HUH!!!! I'm sure they couldn't understand why sweet-happy-to-see-me Mommy instantly turned into yelling-screaming-psycho. I was disappointed because I wanted the whole "Easter Bunny" fiasco to last longer than 6 years. Plus, when I use the whole Easter Bunny threat, you know the one "The Easter Bunny is watching....." or "I'm calling the Easter Bunny......" that will have ZERO effect now!!!!
So that brings us to Easter morning. Well, that is after a LONG Friday night and ALL DAY Saturday of "Can I have my Barbie now?" and "Mom, I want to play with my toys!!" What's a mother to say? So I did just as I planned, I put their Easter baskets together, but this year I HID THEM!!! And what did they say when they found them?? "YEAH!!! It's just what was in your trunk!!" Ouch. The sting of disappointment is still there. I guess I'm not as "over it" as I thought. And Jason, when you read this: IT IS A BIG DEAL!!!! ;-)
